IC 1 - Quad RS232 Driver - 1488

4	ICb input 1 (ttl) (join pin 4 & pin 5 together)

8	ICc output (RS232)
9	ICc input 1 (ttl) (join pin 9 & 10 together)
10	ICc input 2 (ttl)
11	ICd output (RS232)
12	ICd input 1 (ttl) (join pin 13 & 12 together)
13	ICd input 2 (ttl)
14	+Vcc (usually +5vdc to +15vdc)	


IC 2 - Quad RS232 Receiver - 1489

Pin	Function

2	N/C (don't connect - leave floating)

Wire up the buffer as follows:

IC 1 Pin 7 + IC 2 Pin 7 + RS232 Grounds (DB25-Pin 7, DB9-Pin 5)
IC 2 Pin 1 goes to the Tx from the Win98 serial port (DB9 Pin 3)
IC 2 Pin 3 connects to IC 1 pins 2, 4 & 5.
IC 1 Pin 3 connects to the Snop Port A - Read (DB25F Pin 3)
IC 1 Pin 6 connects to the Rd "Device under Test" input (DB9 Pin 2)

IC 2 Pin 4 goes to the Tx from the "Device under Test" serial port (DB9 Pin 3).
IC 2 Pin 6 connects to IC 1 pins 9, 10, 12 & 13.
IC 1 Pin 8 connects to the Snop Port B - Read (DB25F Pin 3)
IC 1 Pin 11 connects to the Rd for the Win98 serial port (DB9 Pin 2).

IC 2 - Pin 14 connects to +5vdc
IC 1 - Pin 14 connects to +12vdc
IC 1 - Pin 1  connects to -12vdc
